Emergency Lighting (Maintenance & Installations)
Emergency lighting is lighting for an emergency situation when the main power supply is cut and any normal illumination fails. The loss of mains electricity could be the result of a fire or a power cut and the normal lighting supplies fail. This may lead to sudden darkness and a possible danger to the occupants, either through physical danger or panic.
Emergency lighting is normally required to operate fully automatically and give illumination of a sufficiently high level to enable all occupants to evacuate the premises safely. Irish legislation places a mandatory requirement for the provision and regular maintenance of emergency lighting in all public and commercial buildings. All property owners have a legal obligation to commission and maintain the emergency lighting in their premises. Similar to the fire detection & alarm system regulations, quarterly inspection and annual tests of the emergency lighting system must be carried out and records maintained.
We supply & install, service and maintain all types of emergency lighting systems to the required Emergency Lighting Standards Ireland 2013 – IS 3217:2013.
